The time when the first settlers came across they needed an area to bring all races in. They needed a place for the farmers to come and for the travelers to stay. King Mortavius sent out a large settlement group to find an area like this. The group marched for years looking for the perfect place they where going to call Hope. Hope was going to be the centrifuge for the entire kingdom. The plans for this town and settlement were going to have some of the first schools and churches. Hope was going to have great places of trade with the greatest of wares. Hope was also going to be used as a military base, a midpoint between Castle Tumult and Castle Lockhart. Wars would cause Hope to be used as a hopping point for soldiers. A large garrison was to accompany the group.

The group came across a huge forest in their travels the first week. They were well out of the Tumult mountains when they came across it. Jim "Eagle eye" Dain, as famous scout was the one man remembered for noticing "The Eye" of the forest from the Tumult Mountains. The forest was dense and over grown with thorns and prickly weeds. They decided to take the time to travel around to find an easier way in. Toward the southern end of the great forest they found the path they were looking for. It seemed like it was an animal trail that was devoid of the thorns and prickly weeds. The travel up the animal trail was an easy path with no problems. They made it north on the trail to where they found the perfect spot, a large flat grassy area on the edge of a decent sized lake. The forrest surrounded them and they knew it would bring good protection and food. The settlers began the building process of Hope in 3 A.S.

23 years pass under the mayor ship of Jon Travisoni. A road has begun trough the trails leading toward castle tumult and a trail leading towards Tundras was created. There were schools being built and churches standing. The town square housed many basic trading goods. The Mayor had sent scouts and diplomats to all the races inviting them to come and help Hope become the greatest city. In one horrible month a string of events brought Hope down. Two of the most notorious monsters ravaged the city with an army of horrid creatures. Umar and Grunlok attacked the city in 26 A.S. bringing behind them hordes of orcs and ogres. It was a definate surprise for the monsters came out of the forest and they thought nothing but game lived in it. The monsters ravaged the city and took it over. John was thrown in a jail to be peed on for months. Other civilians were feasted upon, raped and killed. Some civilians were enslaved to be tavern winches, the woman had to do anything they told. This helped grow a half breed population later on. Grunlok took to power and declared it to now be named Hopesfall.

With hope for the kindom falling Mortavius had a plan to build moral. He sent a thousand young men and women to an area south of Tumult. This area was to be a hopping point for his men to reclaim Hope. The soldiers barracked there for three months and long enough for taverns to pop up. A church was built and a man named Nosivart Semaj, a Half Elf, petitioned the king for it to be named New Hope. The petition was granted and he became the mayor.

Five Months of fighting for Hopesfall went on and the king’s men were winning. The last assault by the king was six months after Hope fell. The kings men overwhelmed the last of the monsters and pushed them out. Grunlok ran way and was never seen until his head was found on a fallen soldier in 101 A.S.. The soldiers garrisoned themselves there and began repairs on the city. In 27 A.S. all the Races began to pool their efforts to help Hopesfall become strong and devoid of any monsters.

To this day Hopesfall is a safe hodgepodge for all the races. Schools of all types and churches line the city. Traders fuel the economy in the town along with the large selection of pubs. Around 100 A.S. the greatest church in the land The Church of Sky founded the Arx and have a huge Cormanthor congregation. Shops like Rings 'n' Things started in Hope and now are in every city. The Rack sponsors a tournament every year and is the largest Pub , Inn and Armory in the land. Brothels like The Winki Tinki Tavern are a spice to the city life. The lake that is outside hopesfall is a great place for fisherman and vagabonds to get food. Hopesfall is the largest city in the lands.

Chapter 2

Life in Hopesfall hasn’t changed much. The large population and the surrounding forest helped fend off the surge. The city remains the center of all the action. New adventure seekers begin their life here in search for the perfect opportunity. Hopesfall was pretty much independent from Tumult when the empire fell. A lot of the royal guard made their new post Hopesfall and it boasts the largest army in the lands.
