For years the city of Kah Ling was a great place to get away to. The Kah Ling people are unique in every way. The Kah Ling people never existed until the humans made land fall on Aitaegen. After years of living on what was once the goblin plains, humans, halflings and goblins began to coexist peacefully. The first settlers followed behind a large group of elves in the first years of landing on Aitaegen. This large mixed group of humans and Halflings were a tribe of people known as the Kah. They too wanted a place to call their own away from the direct rule of hierarchy. The elves that were ahead of the Kah carved a path of blood through the goblin plains. The plains were overrun by goblins and untouched by civilized hands. The Kah that followed behind found the goblins to be fearful of these because of this wave of destruction that swept over them. The Kah were not privy to what the elves had done.
The settlers had made their way to the edge of the Liamen Mountains and they had the same confusion as the first elves did. What were they going to do? The settlers made the decision to make their stay on the plains. The Kah found themselves near a forest which over the next few years would generate everything they needed to survive on the plains with goblins. At first the Kah thought the goblins would make a good food source, yet they proved to be very elusive. The Kah turned to the forest for their food and supplies to begin to build their town.
Over the next years the Kah would build their town and train their martial arts. The speed and elusive behavior of the goblins made for a great training partner. It turns out that the goblins living on the plains were one of the most intelligent tribes in all of Aitaegen known as the Gob Ling tribe. They specialized in stealth, speed and unarmed battle. The Kah and the Gob Ling over time became friends and began to train together. Eventually their societies grew together and over the years the Humans, halfings and goblins would begin to merge and become an entirely new race. This new race would be deemed across the lands as the Kah Ling. Amongst the last remaining members of the Kah and the Gob Ling tribes this name was accepted and they officially declared themselves the Kah Ling people of the city Kah Ling.
The city specializes in martial arts and Asian style art and culture. Adventurers make their way to Kah Ling to become better thieves by learning the stealthful teachings of the Kah Ling. Fighters come to learn the art of unarmed fighting and field hunting. Tumult over the year would continually probe Kah Ling as well for its rumored development and shipping of poisons and drugs. It has never been confirmed that drugs and poison exist in the city, yet thieves were always getting caught with it and blamed the Kah Ling people when questioned.
Chapter 2
The resistance grew in the city of Kah Ling of the years of its existence. This resistance was lead by a man by the name of Nox Mordus. Castle Tumult sent royal soldiers and mercenaries all the time to Kah Ling to try and find him to kill him. They never succeeded in killing Nox nor found his “secret hideout”.
When the void opened up and the undead surged forth Nox and his cohorts knew what was going on. They had been searching out the device that caused the rift. Nox wasted no time in employing his men to make their way to tumult to raid the coffers. Nox also sent a team of men to one place he knew he could get recruits, Kerst.
The surge of undead swarmed to the south of Kah Ling as they headed towards the west. Nox secured his city with force by killing any person associated with Castle Tumult, a lot of royal guards died that week. His army of Brigands fortified the city from the surge and began to develop his empire.
Nox Mordus is a Kah Ling man and so are most of his followers. His army is powerful and silent, often referred to as the midnight killers and ninjas. Kah Ling has become a location of fear for the average person, only those seeking a job, poisons, drugs or a really good fight head their direction. The trade heading in and out of Kah Ling is illicit and rich. The occasional scrap breaks out in the forest between the Kah Ling and the Elven rangers.
