Kerst
pop ?
Major Trade : Stolen Goods
Governor by Rule : Mulla Xul
When the skies turned black that year the people of Kerst had no fear in them. This is a town of people who care very little for the next man. One who would live and inhabit Kerst has few goals and rules to live by. They steal, they kill and they lie to make their daily jack. When the skies turned black they had thought maybe something on the black isle had happened earlier than expected that year.
Normally every year it is expected in Kerst that the dead will come walking in from the ocean. The people come together for one time, one night every year to defend their town from the strange army of undead. Rumor always circulates in the city that The Black Tower on The Black Isle is doing something to cause this. Amongst the people there is definitely no denial that the tower uses the people and the town as the occasional experiment for the development for magic.
When the skies turned black that year the people huddled in to their houses and aimed to protect their loved ones and ale. Yet the wave of undead was very light, not like it is that same time every year. The wave of undead also poured in from the north and not from the seas. To the people of Kerst it was laughable as to what was occurring. The fear quickly subsided and people went about their business as if the next few weeks were just a few weeks without any sun and the occasional wandering undead.
During that time Mulla Xul set forth a plan to take control of Kerst along with his constituants. He made it his goal to control a small sector of the continent. With the help of a few rotten scoundrels and a lot of jack Mulla Xul took his sector. It took about 6 months for Xul's plans to set in. It started with creating a magical guard within Kerst to let people know he is taking control. The Magical Guard is soldiers of great physicality and tremendous magical ability. Some people refer to them as the Spellblade Warriors.
Mulla Xul used his massive stash of jackirit to bribe the leaders of Bandit Isle for their loyalty. With the control of The Black Isle, Kerst and The Bandit Isle the area over the past year has been nicknamed the triangle of death. Many passing ships go out of their way to go far around the outside of the Isles to avoid being pirated. Heavy taxes and tariffs are placed on ships incoming to the Kerst harbor. Traders are willing to make this sacrifice for there is a major fortune to be had in the area to those who are daring enough and skilled enough.
Kerst is now a major hideaway for bandits, killers and others of illrepute. The town is avoided at all costs by most travelers. The most surprising thing amongst the lands is that The Druids Grove has no problem with the people of Kerst. The scoundrels from Kerst never bother the druids in any way and mainly because rumor circulates so heavily about the place being haunted or cursed.
