Port Maldor is the city in which all the races fled to over 200 years ago when the races where pushed from the major continents in which they resided on for thousands of years. There was a fleet of a thousand ships that landed that day. Many of those ships were abandoned and left for others to have. From this landing point many of the races began their search for what would be their new land, cities and future.

Port Maldor quickly became a hot spot for all sorts of trading. Many people come to the city to find jobs as fishermen, soldiers and explorers. The local trade for armor, weapons and traveling gear became very prominent. Port Maldor was the first area staged as the Kings point of contact before Castle Tumult was built. The king hired many people to construct his castle in the early years which will always be known as “After Settlement.”

Port Maldor is a city known for its diverse culture and trade routes around Aitaegen. Many people flock to Port Maldor in search of jobs and quests. Many professions are available in Port Maldor and the city tends to produce more professionals than warriors. The city over time has built up a large banking structure and the Bank of Aitaegen holds a very large stash of Jackirits. The Bank of Aitaegen also provides a stock trading system. Sailing, Fishing and trading are the main focus of the city.

Chapter 2

The day the undead swarmed the city is considered the biggest disaster in the lands of all time. The death toll was higher than the destruction of Stallport years ago by the monsters. The surge of zombies lumbered into the city. Like a slow moving tidal wave the strongest men and women held their ground on the outskirts of the city. It wasn't enough.

The zombies that rose from the graveyards nearby were being brought up by a Lich of fantastic ability. It controlled nearly undefeatable ghosts and ghouls. The dead that would drop by the swords of men would stay down for only a few minutes then rise again. The surge pounded its way into the city destroying buildings with rains of fire. Innocents were killed on site and feasted upon as the undead surge overwhelmed those defending the gates of the city. Once inside the city the Lich's army ravaged every square inch of every building. The Lich and his minions killed nearly every person in the city before leaving.

Some survivors hid by using their skills in stealth and camouflage. These survivors said the army of dead didn't head west like most of the other surge did. The Lich and his army headed north into the desert.

Port Maldor has been under repair since the day the surge came through. Repair of the city has been swift compared to other cities affected by the surge. Many people saw an opportunity to help and make some jacks and jumped at the chance. Many of the sailing fleets were back to full operation fishing the ocean. It has been a struggle for the Bank of Aitaegen to get to its feet but the Jacks it stored were well protected in an underground vault. Many of those who worked for and with the bank hid themselves away in the vault that day. The undead were not so interested in the control of money.

There is an occasional swarm of undead that comes from the mountains and desert. Many adventurers have tried to find the source but have failed. Job for guards is always available in the city. The army is weak that occupies the city and often borrows from Tumult. There is no outstanding leader in the city. The population continues to boom in the city even though overall it has no specific focus other than fishing and banking as its main source of economy. Many adventurers stop in Port Maldor before heading north through the desert.

Many jobs are available for carpenters, masons and teamsters. The consistent rebuilding has fueled a new trade from other cities near the woodlands. These cities have been selling lots of timber for building materials for the building project in Port Maldor. One thing that has become a beacon in the city is a light house watch tower that stands nearly 100 stories high in the city. This tower is called Point Maldor. At night the ships can see it from 50 miles away and in the day the guards can see anything coming from as far as the mountains. They can also see Tumult from such a high point.

Port Maldor has the most chaotic political system. There are laws consistently being made and unmade within their government. Almost every year a new governor is elected for the political discontent runs rampant. Members of the City Counsel are always being replaced due to claims of corruption or inability. These over throws are the result of a city with some much ethnicity involved and no direct goal for what the city should stand for. One thing is certain in Port Maldor, there is money to be made and power to be had.
