Outcast Oasis

As described by an unknown person found in a journal for sale at the market in the Outcast Oasis. The book was being sold as a magic spell book. This book now is held in the library of the Black Tower.
I had never seen a place like this before. I wandered my way into this town not sure what to expect. The place has hardly any buildings, everything is a shanty. It seems that everyone is trying to sell me something, from magical items to the most illegal poisons. There seems to be no influence of law around here, I see no sheriffs or guardsmen. I passed through the heart of this desert oasis and seen acts of lawlessness to which no one paid any attention. It seems as if this place is self governed by the decree of “Try it and die.”
I passed a gladiator area that goes beyond anything I have ever seen. Monsters and humans and ogres and animals all pitted against each other. Not all at the same time but in the same day. These fights are brutal, they are truly to the death and there's a lot of money involved. The dead are disgraced by being tossed in a furnace on the edge of the arena. Someone told me they are slaves, another person told me they are enemy captives. During one fight, one man was referred to as an ex-kingsman – the crowd cheered for his death.
The good in me shines like a beacon in this place. I was trailed and when I went to sleep by the lake I was captured. They let me keep my journal for now, but they are telling me I'm going to be in tomorrow's matches. The gentleman in the same cage as me is an elf from Tundras, he said he was merely exploring the edge of the deep woods and was captured. We shall look out for one another and hopefully this is just another journey Pedius has put me on.
I won my match and so did my elven friend. They wanted me to kill my opponent and I refused, one of the promoters killed him for me. One of the promoters said me and my elven friend did so good he's going to send us up north to some place called Ja El Rain. He told me to write my final entry so this is it, if anyone finds this please send word to The Free Tavern. Tell Danny I'll be back someday, soon as I find a way out of this mess.
